Friday Friends Programme – October to December

Friday Friends meets weekly from 2.00 – 4.00pm every Friday, price £3.50 (carers free), offering a mix of light exercise, singing together, tabletop games and craft activities in a safe, warm and friendly environment – with tea and cakes.

    Would my 84 year old mother be OK to join the Friday Friends activity and how does she join please? I live in Wales and am looking for events my mother could go as she is tending to stay in her house of late. Is there a lift service available? She lives in Blewbury Drive

      Hi Shelia,

      Yes – of course she can join us. She sounds exactly the sort of person that Friday Friends is for. All she needs to do is ‘turn up’.

      I’m afraid organising lifts is more complex. As soon as the church starts to *officially* organise lifts, safeguarding guidelines state that we would need to ensure all the drivers are DBS checked and have been on a safeguarding course. This is too complex for us to organise with our elderly drivers.

      However if you are willing to email us on info@StCatherines-Tilehurst.org.uk with name and address details, I’ll see if anyone else lives in Blewbury and ask how they come.
