Holiday Club 2020
— Coronavirus update —
At this time we do not know whether we’ll be able to run any kind of club this summer. Clearly the longer Lock-down goes on, the less likely we can do anything. The words below were written before Lock-down
We’ve been running a week-long summer holiday club at St Catherine’s for 30 years now. It’s for children aged 4 – 11 and lasts 2 hours each morning.
We still in the planning stages for our 2020 Holiday Club, but we expect it to be very similar to previous years. Along with a central theme, there’ll be plenty of fun and games, craft & making, songs, drama and more.
It is planned to take place from Monday 10th August to Friday 14th, from 10am to 12noon. We also expect an opening ‘preview’ service for all the family on Sunday 9th August at 10:30am.
In previous years, parents are invited to return at 11:45am each weekday morning to see some of the groups perform a song, or the days drama.
Last year the cost was £10 for the week, this was to cover refreshments and materials (a reduction to £5 for additional children in the same family).
For an idea as to what might happen, read on for details of last year …
For our week in August 2019, we travelled around 5 European cities through a mixture of fun facts, food, history and geography. Unfortunately our front of stage backpacking team never seemed to pack the right things, and chaos often ensued 😀!
The children also travelled with Jesus as he arrived in Jerusalem and explored the events of his last week on earth through the awesome accounts from the Gospel of Matthew. There was the normal mixture of Fun, Games, Craft, Bible Stories and Songs, plus the chance to perform Drama and Song.
