Café Siena in December

With the current Tier 2 Coronavirus restrictions, we have decided that the café will sadly remain closed during December. However we will be continuing with our Friday meal delivery service.

If you know of an elderly person who might like a freshly cooked lunch please let us know via the usual channels. The menus are:

  • Fri 4th – Potato topped chicken pie, scone with butter and jam
  • Fri 11th – Lasagne, mini cheesecake
  • Fri 18th – Chicken and ham pie, Christmas cake

£5 per meal

Café Siena to go

Caring for our community.

Do you know of someone living on their own or who is shielding, and might like a freshly cooked meal delivered to their door Friday lunchtime?

The meal this week is cottage pie with peas and carrots, and a slice of bread pudding. Cost £5.00. We aim to deliver the food hot, but it may require 30 seconds in the microwave. Deliver time expected to be 12.15-12.45.

Needless to say, Covid prevention measures put in place in order for this service to be as safe as possible. Orders ideally need to be placed by Wednesday evening. Contact us on info@stcatherines-tilehurst.org.uk

Café Siena – closed for lockdown

With the latest national lockdown announced on 31st October, we regret that Café Siena will not be able to open until further notice.

We have greatly enjoyed meeting & serving  you over the last three months, even though we could only open with limited menu & hours.

We hope we will be able to meet you again soon.

Café Siena – limited opening

A reminder that the Café is open – albeit with a limited menu and slightly less hours.

We are open on Thursdays and Fridays 10.30am – 1.30pm. Because we may only have one member of staff in the kitchen we can only have a reduced menu of hot and cold drinks, cakes, soups, and sandwiches.

All guests are expected to follow the latest safety measures to help safeguard the well-being of all. This includes no more than six to a table, and face coverings must be worn when not sitting down to eat or drink.

Please enter by the car park (north) door where you will be asked to fill in your track and trace details. There is limited seating, but weather permitting, we’ll have additional tables and chairs outdoors.

Despite all these additional measures, the same warm welcome and delicious food awaits you !

St Catherine’s Centre Activities – Six person limit update

The Government’s announcement on 9th September of a six person gathering limit will clearly affect activities within St Catherine’s Centre.

It is clear that many Church and Hall activities will no longer be able to take place from Monday 14th. There are a list of exemptions to this rule, and we are currently seeking to more fully understand what they are.

However, for now, we can confirm :-

  • Our Sunday Services in the Church building will continue unchanged.
Religious services are exempt from the new ruling.  We must continue to operate a Covid-secure environment which includes wearing face coverings.
  • The Café will continue opening – with it’s reduced hours (Thursdays and Fridays) and limited menu.
Covid-secure Hospitality services are exempt, but must now enforce the six person limit, so large groups sharing tables will not be possible.
  • Tuesday get Together will no longer be meeting until this restriction changes.

As the Government issues more guidance, further decisions on other groups can be made.  Please contact your group organiser for details on any specific activity.

Café Siena – reopening

After careful consideration, we are delighted to announce that we are going to reopen the cafe from this week (August 6th).

Initially a soft opening on Thursdays and Fridays 10.30-13.30 with a reduced menu (hot and cold drinks, cakes, soups, and sandwiches).

Extra safety measures will be in place to help safeguard the well-being of all.  Please wear face coverings to come and go!   Entrance by the car park (north) door only!   Limited seating, including tables and chairs outdoors weather permitting.
