St Catherine’s is holding a World Day of Prayer service on Wednesday 13th March at 7:30pm.
This will take place instead of the previously planned Mother’s Union meeting.
The World Day of Prayer service for 2024 has been prepared by the Christian women of Palestine. It is a service that would have been written many years ago, before the current situation in Israel and Palestine began.
Although organised by the Mothers’ Union this service is open to all. We look forward to seeing you there.

Burn 24/7 is a gathering together of people who love worship and prayer – both sung worship and spoken prayers as well as other creative expressions of worship and prayer. In Reading this brings together people from churches across Reading. They meet on the first Friday of each month – in different churches – to spend an evening together worshiping God.
St Catherine’s will be hosting the next evening on Friday the 1st of March – from 7:00pm to 9:30pm. The worship will be led by teams of musicians put together from churches across Reading. The style of worship is often more contemporary. The format is informal. There will be music, worship, creative arts, and prayer in the main sanctuary.
There will be quiet prayer and time with God in the Garden Room. And tea, coffee and squash available. Anyone and everyone is welcome for some or all of the evening. The format is very informal.
Everyone is welcome to join together with Christians from across Reading to worship Jesus.
Join a series of group conversations that freely explore the basics of the Christian Faith in an open, friendly environment. At each Alpha session, you’ll be hosted in a small group and watch an episode of a different question of faith – then you have a chance to share your thoughts and hear what others think. You can say anything you like, or nothing at all.
Everyone’s welcome. You’re invited no matter your background or beliefs. It’s free and there’s no pressure to come back.
Tuesdays at 4.45pm for six weeks starting on Tuesday 20th Feb.
To help us explore Lent this year, we are offering the chance to meet together to do a Course over the 6 weeks of Lent. The course has been produced by the Diocese of Exeter and is called “Come and See.” It will give us the chance to explore what it means to be invited into a deeper relationship with Jesus, and to share that with other people. It looks like a really good course.
For each session there will be refreshments and a video, then we will break into smaller groups for discussion and prayer.
We offer two main opportunities to attend. An evening course will take place on Mondays at 7.00pm in the church beginning on 19th February. A daytime course will take place on Thursdays at 3.00pm in the church beginning on 22nd February.
In addition some of our existing Life Groups will also be doing the course – ask for details.
