Gill is retiring on at the end of the month, so her last Sunday service with us is 27th November.
This will be a special service, an opportunity to say goodbye to Gill and to thank God for all that he has done and all that he will do. Please note that the service will be much longer than usual as there is much to celebrate. We will be sharing communion and there will also be the opportunity for anointing with oil. A Bring and Share lunch will follow.

Thank you to everyone who donated to Operation Christmas Child. This morning we collected 45 shoeboxes of gifts and toys as well as 65 warm hats.

This Sunday – 20th November – is a Family Communion with special emphasis on Operation Christmas Child – which sends Shoeboxes of hope and joy to needy children around the world.
We call it Shoebox Sunday as it is the last day you can drop off your filled shoebox.
We’ll learn more about Operation Christmas Child and what happens to our shoeboxes as they are sent off.
If you haven’t packed a physical shoebox yourself, you can ‘pack’ a Shoebox online at: https://shoeboxonline.samaritans-purse.org.uk/
Our Sunday Morning Service starts at the earlier time of 9:30am for Remembrance Sunday – 13th November.

Our Annual Memorial Service, organised by the Mothers Union, will take place at 3pm on Sunday 30th October, followed by an afternoon tea.
A time to remember friends or family who have passed away. It is open to all.
The service will be followed by Tea and Cake and a chance to chat.

Every time there is a 5th Sunday in the month, we try something a bit different. For Sunday 30th October we’re having a Café Style Church.
We will start at 9.30am with a croissant and jam breakfast. Then at 10.00am we will have a service of sharing songs and scriptures that are special to us and how God has spoken to us through them. This will be a special time of worshipping God and encouraging one another.
Communion follows for those who would like it.

Operation Christmas child is a way of bringing some Christmas cheer to a poor, needy or suffering child.
The idea is to fill a shoebox with small gifts, (please read their leaflet carefully about what is acceptable). You pick whether it’s for a boy or girl and say what age the contents are intended for.
A simple shoebox gift packed with love and fuelled by prayer can have a huge impact!
If you have trouble getting a shoebox, we have a supply of flat pack boxes already decorated for 50pence each.
The organisers – Samaritan’s Purse – request a donation of £5 or more towards transport costs.
We are an official collecting point for filled Shoeboxes.
We’re also holding a special service on Sunday 20th November at our usual time of 10.00am to receive the filled Shoeboxes, when you can hear more about what happens to the filled boxes. Or you can leave filled boxes at St Catherine’s any time before 20th November.
Alternatively, you can ‘pack’ a Shoebox online at: https://shoeboxonline.samaritans-purse.org.uk/
