Sunday Services in December

As we prepare to leave national lockdown and enter Tier 2 restrictions, we have reviewed what activities can resume.
We are pleased to announce that the Church will be open again on Sunday 6th for a Communion Service at 10:00 am.
It will be wonderful to worship together again in person.
Please remember to wear a face mask. Strict social distancing is in place, and COVID-19 guidelines have been implemented.
Government advice is that 70+ be encouraged to stay at home – but it is the individual decision as to whether you attend.
We are currently not planning to hold a public service in the church building on Sunday December 27th.
Café Siena in December

With the current Tier 2 Coronavirus restrictions, we have decided that the café will sadly remain closed during December. However we will be continuing with our Friday meal delivery service.
If you know of an elderly person who might like a freshly cooked lunch please let us know via the usual channels. The menus are:
- Fri 4th – Potato topped chicken pie, scone with butter and jam
- Fri 11th – Lasagne, mini cheesecake
- Fri 18th – Chicken and ham pie, Christmas cake
£5 per meal
Advent Jesse Tree
We’ll be using a Jesse Tree to help us to explore Advent this year.
What is a Jesse Tree?
A Jesse Tree is a way of preparing for Advent by journeying through the stories on Jesus’s family tree. Each day of Advent, we’ll read a Bible story about someone on Jesus’s family tree and hang an ornament symbolizing the story on your Jesse Tree. As you decorate your tree, you’ll see how God prepared for Jesus to be born through many generations.
Where does the Jesse Tree come from?
The Jesse Tree tradition is rooted in Isaiah 11:1: “A shoot shall come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots.” Jesse was the father of David, Israel’s greatest king. And Jesus is descended from the line of David. He is the branch God promised would grow from Jesse’s family tree. Each symbol represents a story from within this family tree and a step toward the birth of Jesus.
How do I join in ?
We’ll be posting a Jesse Tree video every morning of Advent on our Facebook page, either as part of Morning Worship (10am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays) or as a small stand-alone video (9am on Sundays, Wednesdays and Saturdays).
To join in, you’ll need your own small tree upon which to hang your decorations.
Download your Jesse Tree ornaments here.
