Extreme Heat Warning – June ’26

Our usual activities continue during this extreme heat weather warning.

However think about what’s best for you – and if that means not traveling and staying home – please do so.

Keep yourself cool : The heat can affect your health and make you feel unwell, there are many simple things you can do to keep yourself safe:

  • Keep out of the sun and avoid any exercise between 11am to 3pm when the sun is the strongest
  • Drink plenty of fluids
  • Close your curtains in rooms that face the sun
  • If you are going out, take water with you, keep in the shade, wear sunscreen and wear a wide brimmed hat

Follow these easy tips to keep cool when out and about:

  • Carry some water with you and drink lots of fluids
  • If you feel unwell, stop for some fresh air
  • Dress light, choose light fabrics in light colours
  • Help others – for anyone struggling, ice packs/cold compresses to wrists, neck, elbows can help them cool down quickly
  • Take a small hand-held battery fan

Help to protect the vulnerable people that you know, including older people, those with underlying conditions and those who live alone. They may need support to keep cool and hydrated.

Our ECO prayer of the month …

Everlasting God
whose Spirit broods everlastingly over the lands and the waters,
and endows them with form and colour:
give us, we pray, the mind and heart
to rejoice in the majesty of creation.
Teach us to be responsible stewards of this world
and to seek the common good,
that through your blessing all may flourish,
and creation sing your praise
in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Friday Friends Programme – June ’26

Friday Friends meets from 2.00 – 4.00pm every Friday, price £3.50 (carers free), offering a mix of talks, light exercise, singing together, table top games or craft activities in a safe, warm and friendly environment – with tea and cakes.

St Cat’s Lite – Saturday 6th June

Our next ‘St Cat’s Lite’ service is Saturday 6th June, at it’s normal time of 3:30pm.

We’re continuing our series of themes called “Meals with Jesus”. This month it’s ‘Tea with Zach’.

Everybody is welcome.

St Cat’s Lite is a fun, informal, all-age service which usually meets on the first Saturday of the month. While open to anyone of any age, it’s especially popular with children & families.

We start with different craft activities that help us think about the theme. We continue exploring the theme through songs, stories and prayer. We finish with refreshments.

Everyone is very welcome at this or any of our activities.
