St Catherine’s church will be open for private prayer from 12noon to 2pm this afternoon (Monday 22nd June). This is in response to the incident in Forbury Park in Reading on Saturday evening.
Social distancing should be observed during your time in church. The church has been re-arranged into a number of separate ‘stations’ to make this easier. Please enter by the north car park door.
You will be aware that current government restrictions limit the use of the church, so we regret that no public service or multi-household gathering can take place .

Following government slight easing of lockdown, and the latest CofE guidance, churches have been told that they may, if they wish, now open for private prayer, as long as they follow strict guidelines.
After careful thought and consideration, and having completed a risk assessment, the clergy and churchwardens have decided that St Catherine’s can open for private prayer for those who would like it, on request, starting from Monday 15th June.

Thy Kingdom Come is a worldwide prayer initiative beginning on Ascension Day (Thursday 21st May) running through until Pentecost (Sunday 31st May). We have taken part in this for the past few years, but for obvious reasons, this year, everything will be done on-line.
We will be offering a new morning prayer at home service each week day at 10.00 am, live-streamed via Facebook and also available here. The accompanying service booklet to allow you to join in is available here.
We will also be offering an Evening Prayer each midweek evening, which will be led by different people and take a variety of forms; this will be available each day from 7.00 pm, again initially on Facebook and also available here.
We are also planning 24 hour prayer to take place in our homes from 7.00 pm Sunday 24th May until 7.00 pm Monday 25th May; further details will be announced next week. You may like to visit the Thy Kingdom Come website (click here) for further information and prayer resources.
