Messy Church : Saturday 4th November
Christmas is approaching and all the adverts want us to buy more things.
Does getting more and more ‘stuff’ bring us happiness ? Most of us seem to act as if we’re determined to find out by trying!
What does the Bible have to say about having all this ‘stuff’? Please join us at Messy Church on Saturday 4th November, where through our normal mixture of Fun, Faith and Food we’ll try to find out.
Jumble Sale – Saturday 21st October
There is a Jumble Sale in St Catherine’s Hall on Saturday 21st October opening at 2:00 pm.
Entrance 25p. Refreshments and car parking are available.
Café closure – Friday 13th October
The cafe will be closed on Friday 13th October as St Catherine’s is hosting the 2 day Diocesan Missional Conference.
The Café will be open as usual on Thursday 19th October.
Messy Harvest : Saturday 7th October ’17
Autumn is well and truly here, and as the old Harvest hymn put it “All is safely gathered in”.
Do we ever think about Harvest ? Is such a concept out of date in today’s busy on demand 24/7 world ?
Please join us this Saturday – 7th October – for our Messy Harvest. Through our normal mixture of Fun, Faith and Food we’ll explore Harvest, and try to learn a little more about sharing and being grateful.
As usual we start at 3:30 pm. During our celebration we’re collecting food for the Churches In Reading Drop In Centre (C.I.R.D.I.C.), so donations of tinned and packet food are welcome. We also hope you’ll stay for the meal, where we’ll be sharing warming soup.
We hope to see you there !
Friday Friends Programme – October / November ’17
Friday Friends meets weekly from 2.00 – 4.00pm every Friday, price £3.50, offering a mix of light exercise, singing together, tabletop games and craft activities in a safe, warm and friendly environment – with tea and cakes.

Joint Harvest Service – Sunday 1st October ’17
Sunday 1st October is a joint Harvest service, starting at 10am at St Catherine’s.
We will be joined by Cornwell Community Church.
Please come early for breakfast (Bacon Rolls) which will be shared with the 8am congregation.
Harvest donations are for CIRDIC (Churches in Reading Drop in Centre).
Café Harvest Lunch – Friday 6th October ’17
The Café will be open for a special Harvest Lunch at 12.30 pm.
For £6.50 there will be :-
- Cottage pie and vegetables-(Vegetarian alternative available)
- Apple and Blackberry Crumble with custard or ice cream
- Tea or coffee.
Please book at the Café.
Friday Friends will follow in the Hall as usual.
