This Sunday’s service will be a simple service of lament and thanksgiving for the Queen, followed by Communion for those who would like it.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
As our Nation mourns the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, St Catherine’s Church (Parish of Tilehurst St Catherine and Calcot St Birinus) is open to everyone to find a moment of quiet reflection.
Space has been set aside in the Garden Room for any who wish to pray, light a candle or simply remember. A Book of Condolence is open for those who would like to leave a written memory.
A Prayer:
Father, we give thanks for the life of your servant Elizabeth;
for her service to our Nation, the Commonwealth and your Church;
We pray for her family at this sad time
and join with all those who mourn.
In your mercy
turn the darkness of death into the dawn of new life,
and the sorrow of parting into the joy of heaven;
through our Saviour, Jesus Christ
Amen
"God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life."

We will be praying God’s blessing on different areas of church life – for church activities and ministries, as well as praying for the wider community.
