After the summer break for Holiday Club, Messy Church resumes its usual routine of meeting on the first Saturday of month. And that’s sooner than you might think ! It’s this Saturday – the 1st of September.
Many of the children will have joined us for our Holiday Club, and we’re keeping the holiday club fun going with this week’s theme – “Chip Shop Church”.
However, unlike Holiday Club, we want the whole family to come along and join in the mixture of Fun, Faith and Food, while finding out a bit more about what it means to be Church.
Keeping with the Chip Shop theme, our hot meal will be Fish Fingers (vegan option available)
We’d love to see you at St Catherine’s, this Saturday, starting at 3:30pm for Messy Church !
Also, below, is our Messy Church calendar for the whole year. Also, look out for details on St Catherine’s new Sunday afternoon Family service coming soon !

Here’s a brief glimpse of the fun that nearly 70 children, helped by 50 teenage and adult helpers, had at “Rocky’s Plaice”‘ – this year’s Holiday Club.
You are invited to a special Holiday Club opening service at St Catherine’s on Sunday 12th August, starting at 10:30am. You’ll be able to see what our children will be doing during the week ahead.
This service replaces the normal 9:30am Sunday service.

Due to our annual Holiday Club, St Catherine’s Café will be closed on Thursday 16th & Friday 17th August.
We thank you for your understanding and patience. We will reopen as normal on Thursday 23rd August.
Preparations for Rocky’s Plaice – this year’s Holiday Club – have started!
On Monday of the week before the club started, we collected all the cooking ingredients, which have very generously been donated by Asda Tilehurst.

There are still a few places left at this year’s Holiday Club – Rocky’s Plaice.
It takes place Monday 13th – Friday 17th August, 10am to noon, with an opening service on Sunday 12th August at 10:30am.
Registration forms are available from both churches, or email us, or see our Facebook post.
Sunday 29th July is a special joint service at Cornwell Community Church. Accordingly there is no 9:30am service at St Catherine’s.
We’ll meet in the Cornwell Center in Home Croft, off Clements Mead. In response to previous feedback, the service will be at the normal Cornwell time of 11.00 am, with refreshments served from 10:30am. So please come early for cake and real coffee.
We hope you can join us there.
