Sunday Services

As the Summer Break comes to an end, so does our series of outdoor Sunday Services under the old oak tree. From Sunday 4th September, we return indoors to our regular schedule of services.

Our (usual) monthly pattern of services is as follows:
1st Sunday : Holy Communion – a traditional service
2nd Sunday : All-Age Service – a shorter more relaxed service, followed by Communion for those who would like it
3rd Sunday : Family Communion – a simple service
4th Sunday : Word and Worship – a shorter more relaxed service, followed by Communion for those who would like it.

There will be occasions when special festivals and services mean the rota will change, but we hope to give you advance notice when this happens.

Third Saturday Prayer – 20th Aug

Our prayer initiative Third Saturday Prayer continues on Saturday 20th August, from 9 – 10 am

Healing Service – Sunday 31st

Everyone is invited to our Healing Service, at 7:00pm on Sunday 31st July at St Catherine’s.

Prayer will be offered by members of the St Catherine’s Prayer Team in an atmosphere of worship and calm.

Do come along, especially if you would appreciate prayer for any situation you are currently facing, or are struggling with any aspect of your health.

No need to have a need – everyone is welcome!

Crafty Space Extra

Crafty Space ‘Extra’ will meet every Thursday over the Summer Break – i.e. July 28th, August 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th & September 1st – in the Church Hall, from 10am to 12noon, with refreshments from Café Siena next door.

Like the regular Crafty Space meetings, you bring along the craft projects you’ve always meant to do, they’ll provide the time, space, encouragement and help.

Crafty Space will revert to it’s normal monthly Saturday afternoon meetings on Saturday 10th September.

Third Saturday Prayer

As part of our year of prayer, our new prayer initiative Third Saturday Prayer will start Saturday 16th July, from 9.00-9.30am

We will be praying God’s blessing on different areas of church life – for church activities and ministries, as well as praying for the wider community.  This is to encourage everyone to pray together, to build us up as a Body, and pray for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven here in Tilehurst.

Optional:  If you would like to come for tea and toast or coffee and croissant, breakfast will be served from around 8.30pm.

Cornwell Charity Craft Sale

Cornwell Charity Crafts will be at Café Siena on Thurs 30th June & Fri 1st July 10am-2pm, as well as St Catherine’s Summer Fair on Saturday 2nd July Noon-3pm.

They are a group of church members who make handmade gifts to sell for charity.

This year they’re raising money to send Top Notch Trees to Africa.

They’d love it if you popped along to see their goods.

Summer Open Air Services

Throughout July and August, we will be holding the Ten O’clock Sunday Service outdoors (weather permitting). This was very popular when we did this last year.

We will be having a summer series of sermons – “Heroes of the Faith”. The first is ‘Sarah’, where we take a look at Abraham’s wife, and consider what we can learn from her story today.

A short, spoken service of communion will follow, and refreshments will be served in the hall.

Being outdoors, you may wish to bring your own comfortable chair or rug as well as appropriate clothing.

Tots Praise

Tots Praise continues to meet on Fridays at 9.30am during term time. Why not join us !

All parents, grandparents and carers with babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers are very welcome to join us for singing and dancing 💃🏻, story time 📖, craft 🎨 and refreshments ☕️🍎🍪

Stay afterwards to enjoy fresh coffee and homemade cake from Café Siena whilst little ones explore our toy corner ☕️🍰
