World Day of Prayer Service – Monday 7th March

This year’s World Day of Prayer service entitled “I know the plans I have for you” has been prepared by Christian women in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

There will be a service at St Catherine’s on Monday, 7th March at 2.00pm.

The underlying message is one of hope and although the themes of services are decided a few years in advance, this seems very appropriate for us in 2022.  So come along – everyone welcome.

Lent Online Evening Prayer

Over Lent this year we will be offering a short daily prayer time at 5.30 pm on St Catherine’s Facebook page, using the Live Lent reflections on Embracing Justice.

Most sessions will be live, but for some practical reasons, some may be pre-recorded. Each evening will include a Scripture, a reflection and a prayer.

There will also be an Ash Wednesday service at St Catherine’s on Wednesday evening at 7:30pm.

Lent Course – Living in Love and Faith

How do questions about identity, sexuality, relationships and marriage fit within the bigger picture of the good news of Jesus Christ? What does it mean to live in love and faith together as a Church?  All around us we see changing understandings of human identity, changing patterns in relationships and families, changing sexual attitudes and activity.   What does it mean for followers of Jesus to walk in love, faith and holiness today?

This Lent we will be offering everyone in the church the opportunity to listen and reflect.  The course, produced by the Church of England, takes part in 5 sessions – Learning Together; Identity; Relationships; Our Bodies and Sex; Life Together.

We’re inviting everyone in our church community to participate. Accordingly, we are offering the course in two ways :-

  • Thursdays, by Zoom, at 7.45pm (first session on 3 March)
  • Sunday afternoons, in Church, at 4.00pm, (first session on 6 March).

Each session will last about 1.5 hrs.

A Welcoming Space

We have a dream…!

…that we will be a welcoming space here for everyone in our community…where people are able to sit in the sunshine (or the rain!), chat, and build relationships, a place to be, and belong.

We are asking for donations towards a selection of outdoor furniture from below, which will go on the outside tarmac area in front of the Church.

All are made from 100% recycled plastic waste, will not rot or splinter, no more painting or staining required, weatherproof, long life span, maintains the appearance of treated timber.

There are donations envelopes incorporating Gift Aid declarations at church, or contact us and we will send you an envelope.  Please talk to Rev Gill if you wish to donate the full price of any item.
