Shoebox Sunday 2018

A big thank you to everyone who has contributed a shoebox to Operation Christmas Child.

Through Operation Christmas Child, we send shoeboxes packed with toys and supplies to needy children around the world to bring some joy and love at Christmas to children in the poorest parts of the world who might otherwise get nothing.

We collected 61 boxes this morning, which will be combined with the boxes from Cornwell and delivered to the collection point on Monday.

Messy Church : Sat 3rd November – Remembrance

As we approach the 100th anniversary of the Armistice, it is only natural that our theme for this Saturday’s Messy Church be Remembrance.

But the solemnity of the occasion doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun as we explore our theme, producing poppies and thinking about peace.  This should be a great opportunity for all the family to spend time together exploring these themes.

Our hot meal is Jacket Potatoes and Beans, with Cake and Custard for dessert.

So please join us this Saturday – November 3rd at 3:30pm – for our usual mix of Fun, Faith and Food.

Pilgrim Course

In the next few weeks, we’re planning to start running the first in a potential series of courses called “Pilgrim”.

Pilgrim is a major teaching and discipleship resource from the Church of England. It aims to help every local church create a place where people can explore the Christian faith together and see how it can be lived out each day.

The course is both for people who are not yet Christians but are open to finding out more and also for people who want a refresher course in their faith.

Pilgrim takes a different approach to other Christian programmes. It approaches the great issues of faith not through persuasion and listening to someone just talking, but through participation in a pattern of contemplation and discussion with a group of fellow travellers.

The first course is 6 sessions based on the questions asked in the Baptism service. They are :-

  • Do you turn to Christ ?
  • Do you believe and trust in God the Father ?
  • Do you believe in his Son Jesus Christ ?
  • Do you believe in the Holy Spirit ?
  • Do you repent your sins ?
  • Do you renounce evil ?

Please contact us if you’d like more details.
