Messy Church : What is Prayer ? – Saturday 6th May

The first Saturday of the month is nearly here, so we hope you can join us for another Messy Church on May 6th.

This month we’re thinking about “What is Prayer?”. Prayer is an essential part of the Christian faith, and as usual, we’ll be exploring it through our mix of Fun, Faith and Food with Craft, Stories, Songs and, of course, Prayer !

The kitchen team are planning jacket potatoes, cheese & beans, bread & butter followed by treacle tart and custard. We do hope you’ll be able to stay and join us to eat together.

Friday Friends Programme – May / June ’17

Friday Friends meets weekly from 2.00 – 4.00pm every Friday, price £3.50, offering a mix of light exercise, singing together, tabletop games and craft activities in a safe, warm and friendly environment – with tea and cakes.

APCM – Sunday 23rd April 2017

Sunday-23rd A reminder that Sunday 23rd April is the parish wide APCM (Annual Parochial Church Meeting). It’s taking place as part of a special joint morning service at St Catherine’s starting at 10am. (Note the early time than normal for a joint service).

Do come if you can, bringing the financial report & minutes of last year’s meeting (Blue cover) together with the reports supplement (yellow cover included with April RG31) if you have them.

Messy Church : What is Easter ? – Saturday 1st April ’17

The shops are filling with chocolate eggs and bunnies. Apparently it’s all to do with Easter – but what is Easter, and why do we celebrate events which happened nearly 2,000 years ago anyway ?

The first Saturday of the Month comes round early this time, so please join us on Saturday 1st April to explore “What is Easter ?”. As well as our normal mixture of Fun, Faith and Food, we’re delighted that we’ll be joined by our old friends from Word Puppets.

We’re also giving you advanced notice of our special Family Service on Good Friday Morning – April 14th – at 10:30am.

St Patrick’s Day Meal – Friday 17th

Please join us in the Café for our St Patrick’s Day Meal on Friday 17th at 12.30pm.

We’ll be serving Irish Stew and Colcannon for the main meal, followed by your choice of Irish Cream Cheesecake or Fresh Fruit Salad, all for £6.50.

Messy Church : What is Lent? – Saturday 4th March ’17

You’ve hopefully all had your pancakes on Shrove Tuesday – but why ? What’s this ‘Lent’ thing about anyway ?

Please join us at Messy Church this coming Saturday – March 4^th – to find out a little more about the church season of Lent through our normal mixture of Fun, Faith and Food.

We’re also pleased to announce that we are able to put on more Messy Churches than shown on our original 2016/17 calendar. Please add Good Friday – April 14^th and Half Term Saturday June 3^rd to your diaries .

We hope you can join us at St Catherine’s this coming Saturday March 4^th at 3:30pm. Life’s more fun with family and friends so bring the whole family and invite a friend.
